Hands in the Soil Heart in the Community
I'm David, and I've lived in Far Rockaway for a few years. Between work and family, I didn't know many people in the neighborhood — until I joined Edge Farm. Volunteering here started as a way to spend my weekends outdoors, but it's become the heart of my community life.
I help tend the raised beds, repair irrigation lines, and work alongside neighbors who've become friends. Being part of this farm reminds me that growing food is really about growing connections — to the land and to each other.
